All she had to do was move out of the way and she'd still be alive. She was wrong then and she's still wrong now. Let the palestinians fight their own battles and mind your business. We wouldn't want foreigners coming to america to protest american domestic policy, americans shouldn't be going to other countries to fight that country's domestic policies.

Hey Jack, Look up Wikipedia's page on Zionism: Zionism is based on historical ties and religious traditions linking the Jewish people to the Land of Israel. With the Zionists, you are either pro-Israel or you are a modern NAZI. They don't seem to allow for other dissenting opinions. And this young lady held a dissenting view. I, for one, believe that the Palestinian people were given the shaft and have been treated unfairly for generations now.

While the burning of a paper flag may be in poor and immature taste, it does not warrant the blatant murder of her. Many people burned REAL flags during 'Nam demonstrations. I don't think that they should have been summarily executed like the students at Kent State. This young lady was clearly following her beliefs and, right or wrong, she was not using violence.

you owe the jack an apology  it may not have been an actual american flag, but it was drawn by one of the palestinian children to represent that flag.

Tim King: You know Joe, at least realize that you were able to cite something and that it is here for others to see.  Looks like you were right, but I am deflecting so many falsehoods along with way with this story that I have to keep my guard up.  It is not my wish to portray anything for less than it is.  Are you familiar with the images of the little Israeli girls painting messages on the bombs that were dropped on Lebanon in 2006?  These kids should not be hung out to dry I suppose; it is certainly the type of problem you see on all sides.

would be nice if this piece was factually acurate. from 47-67, the areas known as the west bank and gaza were occupied by jordan and egypt. israel took no land at that time.  additionally, it needs to be noted that not one un resolution was passed during that period demanding that either country remove themselves from the illegal occupation. mr king, are you really a journalist?

Tim King: Oh come on Joe, the UN was not behind this.  We are not talking about West Bank and Gaza, we're talking about everywhere else.  You know, you have seen the progressive maps.  Israel increasingly occupied the whole of Palestine with Gaza and West Bank as the exceptions.  Yes Jordan and Egypt were of different mindsets then, especially Egypt.  They're bought and paid for today.  There are also huge questions over the 1967  war itself, whether it was simply an excuse used for a land grab.  Egypt was attacked because they were having a military training operation near the Israeli border and Israel said they were about to be attacked, so they struck preemptively.  The one thing I know is that the U.S.S. Liberty was attacked repeatedly one day by Israeli fighter jets and navy vessels.  Isn't that a Hell of a thing joe?  Your namesake hadn't even been out of it all that long when that took place.  American sailors were mowed down, murdered by Israel, and the influence of Israel on the U.S. was enough to just sweep it along.  Well, many people have never forgotten, and my article on this lays it down: Sep-13-2006: The Day Israel Attacked the United States - Tim King Salem-News.com

If my memory serves me correctly, the murderous driver was a Russian immigrant to Israel. I am pretty sure the recent interview with Rachel's parents on Democracy Now mentioned this. It is probably also in the documentary about her life.

I have never cried when reading about a news story before, but reflecting on this matter, and after reading the words she wrote in the email below, caused me to shed many tears. A very sad ending to a life filled with hope. You do not find many willing to actually travel from the safety of their homes to attempt to do something so heroic. I hope a movie is based on her life story so that Americans can feel what it must have been like when we were the ones fighting for our freedom.

This assay does nothing to promote peace in the area and just inflames hate and antisemitism. Rachel was photographed numerous times burning the American flag. Her organization, ISM is funded by our Saudi 'friends'. Her death was an unfortunate accident and a direct result of being in a restricted military and demolition zone. Interestingly her 'killer' is an Arab Israeli serving in the IDF. Finally, Zionism was never a religious ideology.

Tim King: Probably good that we're not standing in the same room right about now Jack.  Rachel Corrie was not ever photographed burning an American flag you worthless POS.  Your stupid racist policies of murder and elimination of the Palestinian people is what caused Rachel's death.  She was a thousand times the person that anyone who even thinks like you would be.  That bulldozer operator wasn't negligent, he was simply a killer.  He decided to run her down, teach these peace activists a lesson, that's about it.  Only an idiot with a morally corrupt soul would have been driving the bulldozer in the first place, with an express purpose of making Palestinian people homeless, and STEALING MORE OF THEIR LAND.  But he did it knowing that murdering a Palestinian is kind of like a white person in the U.S. Murdering a black person up to, say, fourty or fifty years ago..

If you look at the video when she is ten even the most simple mind can hear this is not a speech written by a 10 year old, but by an adult. In both videos it is clear she has no full understanding of BOTH sides of this conflict. She is a product of brainwashing. She has obviously learned this from her short sighted ( or one sided) parents. I hope they are happy with themselves.

In a poignant email to her parents on February 7, 2003, she wrote: “I have been in Palestine for two weeks, and I still have very few words to describe what I see. I don’t know if the children here have ever existed without tank-shell holes in their walls and the towers of an occupying army surveying them constantly. Even the smallest of these children understand that life is not like this everywhere. An 8-year-old was shot and killed by an Israeli tank two days before I got here, and many of the children murmur his name to me, Ali. The children also love to get me to practise my limited Arabic by asking me “Kaif Sharon?” “Kaif Bush?” and they laugh when I say “Bush Majnoon,” “Sharon Majnoon” back in my limited Arabic.
