(ONTARIO, Ore. ) - Ward Weaver, one of Oregon’s most infamous killers, was attacked on March 4th, by a fellow inmate at the Snake River Correctional Institution.

Oregon Department of Corrections spokeswoman Perrin Damon says Weaver was on his way to get a haircut when the barber tried to stab him with a shank.

Weaver, who received just a minor scratch in the incident, ran back to his cell and yelled for authorities.

The inmate was placed in the disciplinary unit, and the case is being forwarded to the local D-A’s office for possible criminal charges.
