(FOREST GROVE, OR) - Author Onan A. Hill announces the release of his encouraging new memoir, “Dear Wanda.”

“Dear Wanda: A Memoir of World War II” is a very personal account of Onan Hill's life for four years in the military from 1942 to 1946. This long letter was written specifically for his wife and four children.

The narration covers his enlistment in the Signal Corps and his work as a radio operator in Hawaii, his transfer to the Army Air Corps, and his training as a cadet to become a Navigator and eventually a Mickey Operator, a radar navigator, the one who does the bombing when there is an undercast.

Hill was born in 1921 to a farm family in Seminole County, Okla.

After four years in the military, he returned to the U.S. and used 48 months of the GI Bill, eventually earning three college degrees.

He is retired from the Public Schools of Montgomery County, Md.

He and his wonderful wife of 65 years have a great time—reading, discussing every subject under the sun, and working crossword puzzles.

They are convinced that working crossword puzzles together is the source of a happy marriage.
