Sri Lanka's Ghastly Child Killings

More than 100 children were among a huge number of Tamil civilians killed by the Sri Lankan Forces in a gory bloodbath in May 2009.

(COLOMBO TruthDive) - Even innocent and young children were not left behind in the blood bath staged by genocidal Sri Lanka.

Yet another horrid clip of a young boy killed in cold blood has surfaced, captured from the final hours of the gory 26-year civil war between the Sri Lankan government and the Tamil rebels.

The footage shows a 12-year-old boy (named Balachandran Prabhakaran) stripped to the waist and lying on the ground with five bullet holes punctured in his chest. Son of the LTTE leader, Velupillai Prabhakaran, he had been put to death in cold blood. The bodies of five men lie beside him, believed to be his bodyguards. Bits of cloth are strewn on the ground indicating that they were tied and blindfolded before they were shot down.

This is further substantiated evidence suggesting that the Sri Lankan government forces had a systematic policy of killing many surrendering or captured LTTE fighters and civilians. The hard and blatant truth is, even children were not spared from their brutal killings.

The footage, dating from 18 May 2009 appears to have been shot as a gross “trophy video” by Sri Lankan forces. This will be broadcast for the first time in a Channel 4 film, Sri Lanka’s Killing Fields: War Crimes Unpunished – a follow-up to the contentious investigation broadcast last year which accused Sri Lankan government of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

This is yet another critical blow for the Sri Lankan government that is under grave attack by the international community, at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva.

Quick stats of child killings by Sri Lanka

Sencholai massacre of Aug 14, 2006 in which Sri Lankan Air Force, in an air strike bombed the Sencholai orphanage and killed 61 Tamil school girls and injured 150.

More than 100 children were among a huge number of Tamil civilians killed by the Sri Lankan Forces in a gory bloodbath in May 2009.

This is not all. Thousands of innocent children have been brutally killed by the Sri Lankan forces during the final phase of the war.
