Mar-10-2012 13:26TweetFollow @OregonNews Does Rush Limbaugh Speak for the GOP?Judi Iranyi for Salem-News.comDoes Limbaugh speak for the GOP? Given the mild response from Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum to his remarks, you would think so.
(SAN FRANCISCO) - First, Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke was not allowed to testify at the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform hearing on infringement of religious liberty and contraceptive mandates. No other women testified at this hearing. After all, who cares what women think about contraception. Ms. Fluke was then invited to appear before House Democrat members where she argued in favor of requiring all private insurance plans -- including religious institutions -- to provide contraception coverage. In response, Russ Limbaugh berated Fluke using the term "slut" for three days on his radio show. As an unofficial spokesperson for the GOP right wing, he is only saying out loud what too many right wingers believe. I for one hope Limbaugh is allowed to continue his despicable, misogynist rants and thereby greatly help the "Women for Obama" campaign initiative. Obama won 56 percent of the women's vote in the last election and, if women voters are paying attention, Limbaugh and his ilk should help increase this percentage in November. Does Limbaugh speak for the GOP? Given the mild response from Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum to his remarks, you would think so.

Pursuing a typical path to liberal heroics, Fluke was an utter nobody whom the Democrats substituted in a last-minute witness-switch to testify about contraception -- as if her haircut isn't birth control enough -- at a hearing on "religious liberty." Despite her credentials as a heretofore unheard-of "birth control activist," the Oversight and Government Reform Committee declined to accept this 11th-hour witness on the grounds that Fluke did not have appropriate credentials for any congressional hearing, much less one on religious liberty. One longtime Democratic operative admitted privately that Fluke was the least-qualified witness ever to appear before a congressional committee. Fluke became a liberal hero even braver than an actress standing up for abortion rights in front of a Bill Maher audience. President Obama called Fluke and told her that her parents should be proud of her and to make sure she was OK. Hillary Clinton said conservatives were trying to control women. Bill Clinton called her to see if she had any plans for the weekend.

Ralph the below poll pretty well acknowledges that millions of Americans of all races, educational and socioeconomic backgrounds are not falling for Fluke's flukegate. "Obama’s Muslim, evolution is fake and Rush Limbaugh is great, Republican voters say in poll." Left wing misogyny (just a tiny sample below). All covered by 1st Amendment, like all other non-threatening comments, except no one on left outraged by below speakers. Why?: Oh, and on Sunday (ABC Network) A television show "GCB" aka Good Christian Bitches. Would they do that with any other religions, except Mormonism? And don't forget those rap lyrics and Jay-z, Obama's regular sleepover guest (public record). Ed Schultz calls Laura Ingraham a slut. Alan Grayson: L. Robertson a K-Street whore. Chuck Schumer calls flight attendant bitch. Letterman: Palin’s 14yr daughter knocked up. Maher: Michelle Malkin named vibrator Obama. Maher: Sarah Palin a dumb twat. A C--t. Maher: Palin and Michelle Bachmann 2 bimbos, 2 boobs.

Anonymous: Bottom line; Your tortuous rationalization of Limbaugh's behavior clearly shows you are a Limbaugh fan and support his misogynist rants against Sandra Fluke.

Ralph contraception was not the issue before the congressional committee. Sandra Fluke was "not" invited to speak before them because the issues they were dealing with she had no experience in. Though she did speak in front of an all democrat cabal to foster this obvious failed propaganda scheme. Like having a dinky pink house in Frisco. To inform you Ralph, last January ABC was moderating a Republican Presidential debate, and George Stenapholous asked Gov. Romney if states could ban contraception/abortions. It was a nonsensical question, and Romney said as much. Now nearly 2 months later we know what George and the dems were up to, a distraction from actual citizen concerns about the economy and jobs. As it is this Fluke individual has been outed as an operative, not someone really concerned about contraception. All this will backfire, people are wising up to these pre-internet tactics. As far as Rush, ecall how Liberace dealt with his detractors? He said "I laugh all the way to the bank." Dullards always fail to see their own reality.

JT, Rush is a genius at baiting dullards.

Many commentators here are missing the point. It is not whether contraception is morally right or wrong. Rather, the question is shouldn't Sandra Fluke or any other woman be asked to speak on the issue without someone like Rush Limbaugh spewing his vitriol? I personally think Rush Limbaugh is an idiot who appeals to the base instincts of his listeners, but shouldn't public discourse on important issues be more civilized? Isn't contraception a women's issue too? And is it not ironic that all this happened on the eve of International Women's Day.

Regarding the picture above, don't we all agree that Rush should be using protection on that thing in his mouth though?
Bob Gallagher March 10, 2012 9:05 pm (Pacific time)
The question that liberals don't seem to want to answer is, was Rush right or not? Once again Rush Limbaugh yanks the strings of his liberal puppets. Far more leftist press goes to covering what Rush Limbaugh says than what Randi Rhodes or Ed Schultz have to say. There is a reason Rush Limbaugh is the king of talk radio....the reason is, liberals can't stop tuning in!

some idiot, says a remark (that many actually are thinking the same), but he says it in a way that got him in trouble, but now his name is everywhere, and it wont be long til he gets rich off of this.. "I'm just sittin here watchin the wheels go round and round" (john lennon)

Note: Ms. Flule can go to Walmart and get birth control pills for $9 a month, or free at many places around her George Washington Law School. Suffice, this is all planned out posturing by the left that has failed big time. The internals of several national polls acknowledge that Obama is improving in the women's favorable column, but it is still on average in the mid 40's. What will be missing this coming November will be the enthusiasm factor he had in 2008. There are now millions of former high school and college student graduates who have been unable to secure employment. If you take the size of the work force when Obama was sworn in, and apply the current work force size, the unemployment rate is around 11%. Gallup reported today that 19% of available workers are looking for jobs. My guess is that Obama at the top level he can attain next November will be 43% (+/- 3%). He's toast, and Rush Limbaugh and haters like Maher, Shultz, Letterman will still be in the game. Rush will still be the richest fat white guy.. He's light years beyond the haters, as are all conservatives. The "novel" factor is gone, and Obama has a record, which by the way, he will not run on, nor will any democrat run on their records. The blame game and demonization of their opponents will put the left in the extiction column. Bye bye.

The question for me is why can't a women be responsible for her own contraception? My secont thought would be if she has so much sex that she can't afford it then maybe she should take it easy for a bit. She is one of many people who wants Government to take care of her because its convenient. I see it this way. I you want to have fun and srew everything and everybody then take care of it by yourself. Don't make it somebody elses problem. If you can't afford it, keep your pants on or get a job. And. Believe that thousands of Americans, who still have values, think the same way. Including some Politicians.
