(MEDFORD) - The Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office has positively identified the body found Thursday afternoon in the North Umpqua River as 22-year-old Jeffrey Schmidt, from Medford. Schmidt had been missing since a November 19th, 2006 traffic crash in that area. Positive identification was made through a dental records match. Schmidt and his girlfriend Quinn Do Truong were traveling together November 19th when their Jeep Wrangler went over an embankment and into the North Umpqua River. Quinn Do Truong's body was found, while Jeffrey Schmidt remained missing.
