(YUNNAN PROVINCE) - A horrible event in China Saturday around 9 p.m. at the Kunming Railway Station in Yunnan province, left well over 100 people stabbed. Sadly, at least 27 people died, not a shot was fired.

There were multiple knife-wielding assailants according to Xinhua News, the attack happened at a train station in in southwestern China on Saturday.

Officials call it a "terrorist attack"

Authorities called the deadly melee, "an organized, premeditated violent terrorist attack."

China's Security Management Bureau called the incident a "severe violent crime" at its official Sina Weibo account.

"No matter what motives the murderers hold, the killing of innocent people is against kindness and justice. The police will crack down the crimes in accordance with the law without any tolerance. May the dead rest in peace," it read.

The Kunming Railway Station is one of China's largest railway stations.
