(YORK, UK) - Our Human Rights Ambassador, William Nicholas Gomes, always adept in finding new ways to reach and assist people who are suffering, cut off, and disenfranchised, will host a new Bengali language radio program titled "Counter Punch". State terrorism is taking place throughout the world in varying degrees, in places like Bangladesh, Burma, Sri Lanka, Palestine, Syria, Iraq, and a whole list of countries including yours and mine. Salem-News.com is happy to announce this new Bengali language radio program with Mr. Gomes, "Counter Punch" - and through it we are already reaching a large number of Bengali speaking people, particularly in Bangladesh. They are badly in need of information from a western country such as the United States or Great Britain, the information is not something censors in that Asian country can easily block, as they can with local media channels. It is incumbent upon those who work in human rights to find new ways to reach people and also to account for their linguistic limitations. We insist that international laws, designed to protect all human beings rather than a select few, are the most important laws in existence, specifically the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This set of laws does not cater to particular religions or governments, it applies to all countries. Salem-News.com believes this recently launched Internet radio program will see a high degree of success in regard to Human Rights education. Our human rights ambassador discusses the issues related to democracy, rule of law and contemporary politics of Bangladesh. The program is broadcast in Bengali. In this program, Human Rights Ambassador William Gomes asks the leaders of Jamaat e islami several important question about their political stands. This is the political party that has been targeted by the so-called Shahbag Movement. Mr. Gomes also discusses how Jamaat has been used by BAL (Bangladesh Awami League) and BNP (Bangladesh Nationalist Party) for long time.
