(ALBANY, Ore. ) - Two drivers are lucky to be alive Saturday after a serious two vehicle accident south of Albany, Oregon.

The Tangent Fire Department says they and the Linn County Sheriff's Department were called to an accident at 33725 SE Columbus St. just after 7:00 a.m.

Fire officials said the driver of a pickup truck had fallen asleep and his truck sheared a power pole in half, which also fed some underground power lines too.

Another vehicle swerved to miss the on-coming truck, and crashed into a small ditch.

Both drivers were able to walk away from the accident with only some minor injuries.

So far police have not issued any citations or made any arrests in the case. It is not known if any power customers were affected by the accident.
