(WILSONVILLE) - Oregon State Police and local emergency personnel responded to a head-on crash at 4:00 PM on Highway 551 near Keil Road involving two commercial trucks. The crash tied up Wilsonville traffic in several directions requiring a large response from police, firefighters and medical personnel.

Police say their preliminary investigation indicates that a northbound commercial truck driven by 37-year old Mark Lawson of Wilsonville, crashed head-on with a southbound commercial truck driven by 29-year old Randy D. Campbell of Albany.

Police officers traveled from as far away as Salem and Keizer to assist OSP troopers at the scene, who are continuing the investigation.

They say the cause of the crash has not been determined.

Mark Lawson was transported to Oregon Health Sciences University with serious injuries. Randy Campbell was transported to Legacy Emanuel Hospital with critical injuries.

ODOT assisted with traffic control. The highway was expected to reopen by 9:00 PM.
