(LOS ANGELES) - American pop idol and superstar Michael Jackson died today in Los Angeles from apparent cardiac arrest.

Information is just coming forth at this point, we spoke to an expert about what brings about this type of situation in someone Michael Jackson's age.

Though he has been the subject of years of reports relating to alleged sexual improprieties, Jackson will always be known as a cultural icon who inspired millions of Americans and had so many hit songs that naming them will require a great deal of space.

Providence St. Vincent Medical Center cardiology expert Dr. James Beckerman spoke with us at length today and that interview is located below.

Michael Joseph Jackson was born August 29th 1958 into what became an American musical family. Throughout his lifetime he was a recording artist, entertainer, and businessman.

Michael was the seventh child born to the Jackson family. He first showed up in front of television audiences at the age of 11 as a singer in The Jackson 5.

Next came his solo career which began in 1971 as he remained part of the Jackson 5.

It didn't take long and Michael Jackson quickly became one of the world's best-selling artists with five top records: Off the Wall (1979), Thriller (1982), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991) and HIStory (1995).

Here is the interview with Dr. James Beckerman:

FOR MICHAEL JACKSON: I have read in some internet sites that u r still alive n that someone bumped at u n had d chance to talk to u. Well i hope that u really r alive. But i wanna tell u something.. I know that being d king of pops gives u a lot of pressure. u won't enjoy u'r life 2 d fullest. But michael, u don't have 2 be d person they want u 2 be. U don't have 2 wear a mask in front of the people around d world. Being u, urself is what makes u unique, what makes u pure. We r very different from one another. U don't have to think of what others may say with what u do or what u like. I mean come on, nobody in this world owns ur life, only God does. So get ur feet on d ground, love those who loves u. If some people hates u then be it, u'r u n they're them. Changing d real u won't make u happy. I know that living in this world with people saying that they love u won't assure u that they will ti'll ur worst times. But u know there r still people out there that loves you very much even at ur worst nightmares. Some that u have met n some that u haven't yet. Although saying these seem like talking to u, there's still a part in my heart saying that u r not here anymore. i can't stop crying n regretting d days that i never realized that i was a lovingly fan of urs. It's like my heart's gonna burst. I had never cried for someone whose an idol like these before, but u. Now that it's 2 late i've realized that u'r d only idol that i adored so much. But if u r really alive n reading this now. Please some back. Come back 2 us who loves u very much. We need u. We need u 2 stand for d people. We need u because we love u. We're here 2 back u up. Come back michael, u r not alone, just look around u u'll see d people who really cares n understands u. How can we change the wolrld for a better place if u'r not here with us? u said that heaven can wait but where r u now? Come back. We love u so much. Come back michael. This is in behalf of the people who really loves u. Think about the people who will become the next generation. I really hope n pray that u r still alive n i am willing 2 share d span of my life 2 u. -(GASGA) Neliel-

I was a huge Michael Jackson fan. I'll never forget the day my dad was an hour late picking me up from some kid's bowling party, and I sang "ABC" to myself over and over again to keep myself from crying. RIP MJ, and thank you, Dr. Beckerman, for trying to save his life. You did what you could. It just wasn't enough. Fide semper vincere.

Just one more point Michael was a multi talented musical genius , a mega star world wide , and an incredible humanitarian , loved by millions . His music and humanitarian work had a profound influence on people thru out the planet . Michael was at a much higher level of humanity than the do nothing , know nothing people who posted here criticizing him !

Daniel June 28, 2009 2:05 am (Pacific time)

sorry not Rush the group , Rush the ditto head shock jock . I liked Rush the group !

Mike H. June 27, 2009 11:17 pm (Pacific time)

Some people need to have some compassion. RIP Michael Jackson. Oh and there is absolutely nothing wrong with Rush, they made great music. And the maples scream OPPRESSION! and the oaks just shake their head.

Editor: We saw them a couple of years ago in Tacoma, Geddy Lee is amazing! The irony is how much some people could learn by listening to it

Daniel June 27, 2009 7:14 pm (Pacific time)

Say what this story was about Michael jackson not Rush . please get your head out of rush's butt.

SayWhat? June 27, 2009 5:45 pm (Pacific time)

I'm sorry he wasted his life. He never did anything of substance and his life ended in misery, debt, and addiction. I feel sorry for him, the way I feel sorry for any death announcement. Now, can we please let him and his memory rest in peace?

Editor: Maybe I am not following you, because suggesting that Michael Jackson never did anything with his life is nothing less than insane or hopelessly ignorant.  I'm sure I misunderstood.

SAMINAH June 26, 2009 5:24 pm (Pacific time)

Ms. Gina June 26, 2009 3:55 pm (Pacific time)

RIP Michael Jackson, you were a God sent musical icon. Someone who truly had extraordinary natural talents. God has delivered you from this hell on earth. No one is perfect, we all are hypocrites and he just went about things the wrong way and trusted human too much. He was bigger than life. In spite of issues not proven, he touched so many lives in a positive way throughout his musical career. There will never be another Michael Jackson in this lifetime. God created this unique individual and for that no one can take away or destroy no matter what, he did what God will was for him to do. He was only one year older than myself, so I lived his marvelous music. When I was little, I couldn't wait until Saturday mornings, so that I could watch the Jackson Five and the Osmonds on t.v. His legacy will out live us. I am truly devastated from this sudden and unnecessary lost; my heart and prayers go out to his entire family.

A famous psychologist once stated: "The view of famous personalities often mirrors the main characteristics of those viewing." We have in these comments a precise measure of that sharp insight...for what it may be worth in our own view of the society-in-whole. That's one strong measure of this insightful S-N report of the interview shaped by the specialist training and deep experience of Dr. Beckerman.

Allun Bucchermun June 26, 2009 7:32 am (Pacific time)

I remember the first time I saw Michael Jackson's new nose -- I said, "Oy gevalt! Whassamaddawitchu!" But I mourn his passing with a hearty, "Hey, Dudley!"

cameron craig June 26, 2009 5:12 am (Pacific time)

I remember him as a young star and my favorite song of The Jackson 5 starring Michael Jackson will always be "I'll Be There" Q www.IraqWarHeroes.org

El Guapo June 25, 2009 9:19 pm (Pacific time)

He may or may not be guilty of any of the things people accuse him of. I am a citizen of the United States of America and he was never convicted by a jury of his peers of anything. Unless you have some proof beyond your sick accusations lets let him rest in peace

Daniel Johnson June 25, 2009 9:13 pm (Pacific time)

The best thing about Michael Jackson, from my point of view, was Weird Al Yankovic's spoof of Jackson's Beat It! called Eat It! Watch them both and see how good the spoof is.

TheGreatKitty June 25, 2009 7:43 pm (Pacific time)

In his memory, let us all proclaim: He was the King of Pop. There was none higher. Sucker MCs must call him Sire. To burn his Kingdom, you must use fire. He won't stop rocking until he retires -- or dies of cardiac arrest. Thank you, Dr. Bergerman, for your tribute to the lasting greatness of his musical greatness of Michael Jackson, the King of Porp.

Daniel June 25, 2009 7:17 pm (Pacific time)

Anony you see liberals under your bed , you sound like the psycho . Oh WATCH OUT the LIBERALS are going to get me ! You should worry more about YOUR relation with your maker and lack of compassion !

Daniel June 25, 2009 7:11 pm (Pacific time)

no tears Michael had his day in court and was found innocent ! Did you burned your beatle records when the thumpers were decrying Lennon ? Get your head out of supermarket magtrash and educate yourself .

Jessika .Macias. June 25, 2009 6:07 pm (Pacific time)

BREAKING NEWS: Michael Jackson died. Just another Psycho dead. No doubt that he was a good singer until he started to become a white man and turned really weird. He turned from an outstanding Rock Star to the biggest looser ever. I hope he was right with his maker. Only God knows. But please you liberals, don't make this day another Holliday!

Goodol4kitty June 25, 2009 6:43 pm (Pacific time)
