Portland Police Make Arrest in Bias Crime Case

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Portland Police say an 18-year-old woman was assaulted in a Bias Crime in the area of Southwest Broadway and Southwest Oak Street May 17th at 3:30 a.m.

Detective Mary Wheat with Portland Police, says the woman suffered a concussion after being kicked in the head by a man who had asked the woman about her sexual orientation.

The case was assigned to Portland Police Detective Kevin Warren who investigates bias related crimes.

Detective Warren identified and arrested 23- year-old Eduardo Herrera on June 14th 2009 and Herrera was charged with one count of Intimidation in the Second Degree and one count of Assault in the Fourth Degree.
