Government of India to take steps at the UN to formally charge those who committed massive abuses against Eelam Tamils, as war criminals and to impose economic sanctions on Sri Lanka.

This historic resolution highlights the power of pressing a government who has committed gross butchery of thousands of civilians to be held accountable. They must be charged formally as war criminals.

United State Tamil Political Action Council (USTPAC) in conjunction with the growing international boycotts of Sri Lankan clothing and products, held their monthly boycott demonstrations in Boston, New York City, Washington DC, San Francisco, Raleigh North Carolina, and Sawgrass, Florida on June 11, 2012.

They targeted Victoria Secret and the Gap stores, alerting consumers not to spend their money on clothing manufactured in a country accused of committing genocide of the Tamil people.

Thousands of consumers were alerted, educated and hopefully converted to bringing down the present GOSL by weakening their textile exports.

Shoppers were asked to check the lablel of all possible purchases... and refuse to buy anything “made in Sri lanka”.

Boycotts in Tamil Nadu, and the UK have also been bolstered by the heroic efforts of the Tamil Nadu minister and her government resolution.

USTPAC is committed to breaking the silence of the Tamil genocide.

“Atrocities can never stay buried. We will never stop fighting for the Tamil people and get justice against the perpetrators, and dignity for the Eelam Tamils,” said Vice president of USTPAC, Dr Ellyn Shander.
