(MEDFORD, Ore. ) - An Oregon State Police traffic stop on Interstate 5 near Medford led to the arrest of a West Sacramento, California man after he was found in possession of approximately 2.2 pounds of cocaine. Friday night at approximately 8:07 p.m., an OSP trooper stopped a Toyota Tacoma pickup displaying California license plates for a traffic violation. The pickup was driven by 42-year-old Jay Gaudalupe Barragan, from West Sacramento, California. Subsequent investigation during the traffic stop, with the assistance of a Medford Police Department drug detection canine, led to the discovery of approximately 2.2 pounds of cocaine concealed inside the pickup. Estimated value of the seized cocaine is approximately $40,000. Barragan was arrested without incident and lodged in the Jackson County Jail for Unlawful Possession, Delivery, and Manufacture of a Controlled Substance - Cocaine.
