(YAMHILL, Ore. ) - Oregon State Police and the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office, are continuing the investigation at the scene of Thursday morning's fatal commercial truck crash that occurred along Highway 47 just north of Yamhill. Preliminary information indicates at approximately 11:00 a.m., a 2000 Freightliner truck pulling a trailer driven by 42-year-old Jason Alan Reynolds, from Vancouver, Washington, was traveling southbound on Highway 47 near milepost 34. While negotiating a right curve, the truck and trailer traveled across the highway and rolled onto their side in a grass field. Reynolds was pronounced deceased at the scene. He was not using safety restraints and had to be extricated from the truck. The trailer was transporting several hundred gallons of syrup, some of which spilled into the field. OSP troopers from McMinnville and North Plains offices are on scene with an OSP collision reconstructionist investigating. Assistance and response at the scene provided by Yamhill County Sheriff's Office, Yamhill Fire Protection District, and ODOT. The highway was closed with detour in place during investigation and clearing of vehicle and spilled load.
