Two Teens Lead Police on High Speed Chase on I-5

(MEDFORD, Ore. ) - State, county and city law enforcement officers concluded the search for a suspect who fled a stolen vehicle following a high speed attempt to elude along Interstate 5 between Phoenix and Medford.

Officers ended the search about 1:30 a.m. in the vicinity of the Bear Creek Greenway, a biking and foot path in the south Medford area.

On Tuesday at approximately 9:54 p.m., OSP attempted to stop a 2004 Acura TL four-door displaying Washington license plates northbound on Interstate 5 near Phoenix. The driver failed to yield and attempted to elude at high speeds. As the vehicle exited the freeway and attempted to turn right onto Highland Drive, the driver lost control and went across the center median into a curb.

The driver, described as a white male, late teens, wearing a white t-shirt fled on foot. An 18-year old female was arrested by OSP following a short foot chase.

The vehicle was confirmed reported stolen out of Lake Stevens, Washington.

Passenger 18-year-old Justice Christine Campbell, from Kent, Washington, was lodged in the Jackson County Jail for Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle and Unlawful Entry in a Motor Vehicle.

The driver was tentatively identified as a 19-year old male out of Washington. His name is not released at this time.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect is asked to call OSP Southern Command Center dispatch at (541) 664-4600 or 9-1-1.

Officers from Oregon State Police, Jackson County Sheriff's Office, Medford Police Department and Phoenix Police Department were involved in the search for the suspect driver.
