(MCMINNVILLE, Ore.) - McMinnville Police say this morning at approximately 6:30 a.m., detectives, with the help of the Tigard Police, arrested 48-year old Terry Allen Westfall. The arrest is reported to be the result of a month long investigation by the McMinnville Police Department.

The alleged crimes began in approximately 1998 and continued for several years. The victim of these crimes is a female known to Westfall, and was a minor under the age of 12 at the time of the first occurrence. At the time of the alleged crimes, Westfall resided on NE Irvine Street in McMinnville, Oregon.

Westfall currently lists two different home addresses, 205 Rice Lane, Amity, Oregon, and 1939 NE 3rd Avenue in Camas, Washington. He is employed as a delivery driver for a Tigard company.

A news release from McMinnville Police indicates that Westfall was lodged at the Yamhill County Correctional Facility on numerous charges.

Westfall is facing 10 counts of first-degree Sex Abuse, which fall into the Measure 11 category. Bail on those counts is 1,500,000.

He also faces 2 counts of first-degree Sodomy I, also a Measure 11 crime, with bail set at 300,000.

Detectives believe there may be more victims, and urges anyone with information on Mr. Westfall to contact Detective Sherry McCuistion at (503) 434-2340.

It is always important when it comes to highly charged stories such as this, to note that the individual has only at this point, been accused of committing crimes. Americans are innocent until proven guilty and cases like this can be devastating for families and neighbors. Sometimes the suspects are convicted, other times they are acquitted, found non-guilty, or see charges dismissed before trial.

He is a veteran. He volunteered with Special Olympics. He is a scumbag. He is now convicted, but didn't get nearly enough prison time.

yep...if it quacks like a duck...must be a duck...this guy is a creep...the police wouldn't arrest him if he was innocent! why do all of these petofiles keep getting off...ha, no pun intended! ! !

of course he's guilty. He is a hairy unsophisticated truck driver. I mean it's not like he is one of our clean cut and upstanding citizens. I would think twice about his innocence if he were a veteran, cop or firefighter.  Why do you blame the paper for things that others do?

None June 10, 2009 8:51 pm (Pacific time)

It would seem that the community has already deemed him guilty, especially when none of the facts about this case has come to light in the public eye.  In searching Mcminnville on the web.....6 hits for this story appeared.  You should all be ashamed.  Wether he did this or not, you have now ruined his life and scarred his entire family.

Editor: Nice,  now we should be ashamed for reporting that a man has been possibly involved in sex with a little kid?  Did you notice the last paragraph?  I would venture to say that we are the only news agency that takes the time to remind people that these suspects are only "charged" and not yet convicted.  Thanks for the appreciation..  For the record, cops almost never make these arrests without sufficient evidence.
