(SALEM, Ore.) - Monday, a high-ranking Peruvian government official told NBC News that Joran van der Sloot confessed to the slaying of a 21-year-old woman in a Lima hotel room.

La Republica newspaper reported that Van der Sloot said he broke Stephany Flores' neck after she grabbed his laptop without his permission; she apparently discovered that he was involved in the disappearance of an American woman, Natalie Holloway.

The paper quoted Van der Sloot as saying, "I did not want to do it. The girl intruded into my private life... she didn't have any right."

Stephany Flores

Van der Sloot has been the main suspect in the May 30th killing Stephany Flores, a business student.

On Saturday, police released video taken by security cameras at the hotel/casino where they say 22-year old Van der Sloot met Flores while playing poker. Van der Sloot had been staying at the hotel since arriving from Colombia on May 14.

The video clearly shows the two entering van der Sloot's room together, and then him leaving alone, four hours later.

The young woman's body was found on the hotel room's floor more than two days later. Her neck broken, and she was badly beaten. By the time her murder had been discovered, Van der Sloot had already crossed into Chile, where he was arrested Thursday.

May 30th was five years to the day since the disappearance of Natalie Holloway.

I hope this POS enjoys his new Peruvian boyfriend. Something tells me he is about to have a very hard time until he is snuffed out in a cozy prison cell.
