Police Identify Hubbard Residents in Fatal Crash

The highway intersection is controlled by a stop sign for traffic on Monitor-McKee Road NE. It is not known at this time if one of the vehicles failed to stop.

(HUBBARD, Ore.) - Oregon State Police troopers are continuing the investigation into Friday night's crash that killed two people and injured five others, three critically, at the intersection of Highway 214 and Monitor-McKee Road NE in Marion County.

The names of some of the involved people are being released and additional details may be provided this afternoon.

Preliminary information according to OSP Trooper Scott Show indicates that last night around 10:45 p.m. a 1991 Ford E250 van driven by 39-year old Francisco Pedraza Velazquez of Mt. Angel, was southbound on Highway 214 passing through the intersection at Monitor-McKee Road NE when it collided with a 1997 Honda Accord four-door containing six people. Both vehicles rolled several times after impact.

Pedraza Velazquez was alone in his van and received non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Honda, 20-year old Simon Alagoz of Hubbard, received non-life threatening injuries. Two passengers were pronounced deceased at the scene and three others were critically injured.

Deceased passengers are identified as 19-year old Alexei Michael Alagoz of Hubbard, and 15-year old Anya Cherinishoff of Hubbard.

Two of the three critically injured passengers in the Hnnda are identified as Anthoney Mametieff, who was transported to Salem Hospital, and Michael Avgi who was transported by LifeFlight to Oregon Health Sciences University.

Show says a third person whose name is not available was reportedly transported to Oregon Heath Sciences University.

OSP troopers from the Salem Area Command office are continuing the investigation.

The highway intersection is controlled by a stop sign for traffic on Monitor-McKee Road NE. It is not known at this time if the Honda failed to stop or failed to yield to the van.

Marion County Sheriffs Office, Aurora Police Department, Mt. Angel Police Department, Woodburn Fire Department, Mt. Angel Fire Department, and ODOT assisted at the scene.
