(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Clackamas County Sheriff's Office patrol personnel responded to a report of a male subject, who is believed to have been assaulted with an axe. This male patient has been transported with a severe head injury, conscious and breathing, to Oregon Health Sciences University Hospital (OHSU), in Portland. Clackamas County patrol personnel report a disturbance occurred earlier inside the Harmony Inn, located on SE 82nd Avenue at approximate 2:00 a.m. This initial physical altercation was described to have erupted been between two, male, Hispanics while inside this establishment. Shortly after the closing of the Harmony Inn at 2:30 a.m. a white, male, and patron of the Inn -- who had intervened during the earlier dispute inside the tavern – was walking in the area of the Winco Foods parking lot, located at 11250 SE 82nd, Happy Valley. Witnesses report one of the two Hispanic males participating in the earlier scuffle at the Harmony Inn, attacked this victim/patron as he was walking away from the Inn, near Winco. Witnesses and the victim report this Hispanic, male, suspect is estimated to be 25 years of age, balding, with a goatee, 5'06", 150 lbs; wearing a white shirt and blue jeans. This described suspect is reported to have assaulted the victim with an axe and ran south and west from the scene crossing SE 82nd Avenue, near the Ross Store. Initial efforts to locate this fleeing suspect failed. The victim is believed to have a fractured skull, was breathing and conscious at the scene. This victim has been transported to OHSU Hospital by American Medical Response. The identity of this victim is not released at this time. Detectives have not responded and will be following-up on the patrol portion of this criminal investigation later this morning. that doesn't surprise me. the harmony inn is the trashiest place in town. it should not even be in business.
