(TALENT, Ore.) - Police say one lane of northbound Interstate 5 was temporarily closed today around noon after a distraught woman reportedly jumped from a freeway overpass in Talent. The lane was closed less than 30 minutes and the woman received non-life threatening injuries. According to Oregon State Police Senior Trooper William Matson, today at approximately 11:55 AM a 35-year old Talent-area woman jumped from the Talent overpass near the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 and exit 21. The woman reportedly landed off the pavement about 30 feet below in an ivy, slopped area. She was transported by ambulance to Rogue Valley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. OSP troopers from the Central Point Area Command office are continuing the investigation. ODOT, local fire district personnel, Mercy Flights ambulance, and Talent Police Department assisted.
