Murder Suspect Arrested in Stabbing Death of Megan Kohl

(GLADSTONE, Ore.) - A prime suspect has emerged from the Megan Kohl homicide that occurred at 250 W. Arlington on July 21st of last year in Gladstone, Oregon.

The Clackamas County Major Crimes Team and US Marshals arrested 33-year old Robert Burton Bettelyoun at a home in Washington County on Friday, June 1st, 2007, after what they describe as an extensive investigation.

Bettelyoun was interviewed by the lead investigators and denied killing Ms. Kohl. He is being held without bail at the Clackamas County Jail on the charge of Murder. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday, June 4th, at 3:00 PM at the Clackamas County Circuit Court.

Megan Kohl had been found stabbed to death at the Gladstone Apartment where she had been staying with her two friends.

The friends were eliminated early on in the investigation as suspects in the death. Over 100 people were interviewed during this investigation and Mr. Bettelyoun was the sole suspect who emerged.
