Jun-01-2012 17:38TweetFollow @OregonNews Republican Anarchy and TheocracyKenneth G. Ramey Salem-News.comThe story of Christianity is one of unrelenting and devious methods from which Protestants escaped in the 18th Century.
(PASO ROBLES, CA) - Mitt Romney who, in spite of his Mormonism, (he is a Bishop) has proven to be better able to tell others how to behave as Mormons ought, than to live up to the tenets of his faith himself, which he justifies by saying it is not because of him that he deviates, but rather because in politics, it is the way things are done. It certainly is true of the Republican Party which has been taken over by Evangelists who interpret the Bible, our Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution as having been Ordained by a God of their definition; but that logically is not correct. The truth is, the GOP when in power, has been filling positions of lasting authority - local, state and federal - including the courts and the Office of the Attorney General (who can forget?) with persons of its own ilk who will do as they are told and will contribute to the power of the Holy See. Practically all persons seeking a Republican office, become devotees of the GOP’s curia - the administrative body by which the President elect governs, or vice versa, the Holy See to which, if elected, all will be beholden. The degree to which the Holy See controls the Party is evident in the way its members vote as a [block] with the object of preventing Barack Obama from being re-elected. Judged by their action, The Holy See and obedient Party members appear as anarchists, willing to destroy our system of government if in the doing they can rebuild it in their own misguided image. They believe they can win the Presidency and a majority in both Houses this year, and are going all out to achieve the goal of moving America toward a Theocracy of their making. The story of Christianity is one of unrelenting and devious methods from which Protestants escaped in the 18th Century. But the Holy See wants to disavow the meaning of our Independence and the truths of America’s Constitution in favor of its own interpretations, especially when construed in favor of the Theocracy it wants to become, at our expense. The confusion caused by the rhetoric of Mitt Romney who talks a good show based on what he did when at Bain, becomes vastly more understandable when compared to what Meg Whitman has done since she recently arrived on the HP scene; namely, over a period of several years she plans to lay off 27000 employees that will save HP $3.4 billion a year; a scenario not unlike what happed under Romney at Bain who brags about his accomplishments but not the mega millions he took at the expense of his employees. Is this the way to run a country? As a bishop in the Church of LDS to which he tithes millions of dollars each year, isn’t it reasonable to suggest he has a conflict of interest where the Evangelical Holy See is concerned? Romney was hardly the first choice of Evangelists for the nomination, and now with it in the bag, what’s next? He goes to the convention as Nominee, but can he keep it? All things considered, the safest bet it seems to me. would be to re-elect Barack Obama for a second term because he is a known quantity who truly deserves the chance to finish what he has begun. Obviously, he comes to the Office unencumbered, compared to Romney. And I like the fact he is committed to peace more than to conflict. With the experience of his first term under his belt, I doubt he will ever wonder what Geo W. would do?; (ref. to Bush’s comment where his portrait was hung in the W.H.today.) Our President has come into his own after one term and is better able to make right decisions consistent with national and world opinion than the opposition. Barack Obama is my choice for a second term: won’t you join me for the good of our country? Kenneth G. Ramey, Salem-News.com's Religion and Philosophy Writer, confronts the hard issues of politics and religion from a logical point of view that combines interesting insight with history into the truth, or lack thereof, that underlies the strengths and weaknesses of the Religious Right’s determination to use American politics for its own misguided, or selfish, interest. It’s rare for a writer to balance his writing between religious values and the secular guarantees of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights with the knowledge that Ken possesses, and to do it so effectively. Ken was born in Minnesota but was raised in California since 1932. He is the youngest of four boys raised by his mother alone during the dark years of the Great Depression. He Graduated from SFSU in the 1970s when in his mid-forties, majoring in Spanish North American History, and added three years of post-graduate study, much of it in Philosophy and Religion. We live at a critical time in history and believe Ken's views represent the view of many who are tired of the commercialism and false interpretations about religion today. Watch for Ken's articles on religion, philosophy, politics and history. View articles written by Kenneth G. Sorry ,not a chance. If people dont make it hurt by voting for candidates that support thier views we will never get anything other than the two party party of one. Peace

Ken you said: "And I like the fact he is committed to peace more than to conflict." Have you heard about Obama's "Kill List?" Does not square well with his Nobel Peace Prize in my opinion. Have you also noticed how many democrats, including Bill Clinton said that the Bain Corporation did good things. As you must know, these kinds of businesses go to outfits that are essentially doomed, and they attempt to save them. They save far more jobs than are lost Ken, so that's a good feature of capitalism. I heard Romney has around an 80% success rate turning companies around and saving them. What batter would not want an 800 batting average? Of course keep in mind this is all in the private market, no taxpayer money is "directly" involved. Outfits like microsoft, Apple, HP, and on and on were all privately created. Goverment does not create wealth. Obama took billions of taxpayer's money and lost it messing with private companies. For example, Solandra, he provided nearly $600 million in funding, and they went belly-up Ken. There is a list out there on the net that lists many of the businesses he provided our money for, and none did well. But there was at least one person in all these outfits that were known as cash bundlers for the democratic paty. Think "Fast and Furious" Eric Holder will look into it? Obama's future will be decided by the voters, and that's the process. Hopefully we have minimum fraud, for if we have much of it, well, then we will be in some serious mud.
