Deputies Seek Information in Home Invasion Robbery

Investigators say they are anxious to gain more information that will lead to the arrest of the two suspects they say were involved.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Marion County Sheriff's Office deputies are investigating a home invasion robbery that happened Thursday night at approximately 11:00 PM.

A homeowner at 4721 Carolina Avenue NE in Salem, 73-year-old Fritz Wegscheider, says two unknown suspects forced their way into his home, and then brandished an unknown make/style of pistol and proceeded to burglarize the residence while the Mr. Wegscheider was held against his will.

Mr. Wegscheider says he believes one of the men was a white male with a medium build in his 20's wearing beige clothing. He was unable to provide any additional detail on either suspect. At this point it does not appear that Mr. Wegscheider was seriously injured.

Marion County Sheriff's Office Spokesman Kevin Rau says a number of items were stolen from the home, including one 44 magnum revolver, one 22 revolver, one 22 semi automatic hangun, two 30-06 rifles, two 300 magnum rifles, one 7mm magnum rifle, on 12 guage pump shotgun. "Also stolen was a heavy gold neclace, diamond ring and 5000 Euro bills, most in the denominations of 500 euros, he had left from a trip to Europe."

Investigators say they are anxious to gain more information that will lead to the arrest of the two suspects.
