Eugene man Arrested on Drug and Weapons Charges

Police say that in addition to drug-related evidence, firearms, a homemade shotgun/booby trap device, and 28 double-edged swords, dirks and daggers were seized.

(EUGENE, Ore.) - An interagency investigation led by detectives from the Oregon State Police Meth Initiative Team resulted in the arrest on Thursday of a Eugene-area man on drug, firearms and weapons charges.

Thursday just after 7:00 AM, detectives from the Oregon State Police, Lane Sheriff's Office, Springfield Police and Immigration officials served a search warrant at 86126 Drummond Drive in Eugene related to a narcotics investigation.

Officers arrested convicted felon 47-year old John Alvan Gray, after finding him inside a barn/converted residence on the property.

While executing the search warrant, investigators say they seized various substances, unknown white and black powder, approximately 4 grams of methamphetamine, and other evidence associated with drug manufacturing. Over one ounce of Marijuana that was being converted into Marijuana oil was also found in a bedroom.

In addition to drug-related evidence, ten firearms, a homemade shotgun/booby trap device, and 28 double-edged swords, dirks and daggers were seized. Controlled substance evidenced seized was sent to the OSP Crime Lab for analysis. The remaining toxic chemical and contaminated items were disposed of in accordance with DEA protocols by a certified chemical disposal company and the aforementioned barn/residence was posted as unfit for human habitation. Gray was lodged at the Lane County Jail for Unlawful Manufacturing (growing) Marijuana, Unlawful Possession Methamphetamine, Felon in Possession of Firearms and Felon in Possession of Restricted Weapons.
