(KEIZER, Ore. ) - The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, in conjunction with the Northwest League president's office, have announced six players will participate in the 2014 Northwest League All-Star Game Tuesday, August 5 in Eugene, Oregon. Three pitchers and three infielders will represent the Volcanoes on the South Division roster as Jose Reyes, E.J. Encinosa, Eury Sanchez, Christian Arroyo, Will Callaway, and Travious "T" Relaford will all make the trip to PK Park. Starter Jose Reyes represents the rotation for the Volcanoes, who capped off his solid first half with an eight-inning one hit shutout of Boise Sunday. Reyes, a second-year Volcanoes starter, is 3-3 with a 3.44 ERA covering 49.2 innings, the second most innings pitched in the Northwest League this year. Encinosa is 3-0 on the season with a 3.07 ERA with one save in his third professional season with the San Francisco Giants system. The Miami, Fla. native pitched a stretch of 11 outings allowing no runs on four hits from mid-June to mid-July. Joining him in the South All-Star bullpen is Eury Sanchez, a late-inning shutdown pitcher for the Volcanoes. Sanchez leads the team with five saves and sports a 2-1 record with a 2.66 ERA. The third-year Giants pro also had notched 31 strikeouts compared to just eight walks this season with Salem-Keizer. The Volcanoes will have a heavy representation in the infield with three All-Star starters. Giants 2013 first-rounder Christian Arroyo will be the starting shortstop. Arroyo has caught fire in July, brining his numbers to impressive totals: .317 average, three doubles, two home runs, 19 RBI and three steals. The 25th-overall pick last year is hitting .376 (32-for-85) with one home run and 15 RBI in the month of July. Veteran infielder T Relaford, who served a stint with AA Richmond last season, can be in the mix at three infield positions, serving time at second, third and shortstop this season. Relaford leads the team in runs scored at 25, while hitting .290 with 11 RBI on the year. Will Callaway had been consistently one of the top hitters in the Northwest League and gets the nod as the starting third baseman for the South Division. Callaway, a 37th-Round pick in the Giants 2013 Draft out of Appalachian State, is hitting .321 with 11 doubles, two home runs, and 27 RBI. Callaway ranks ninth in the league in batting average and is tied for third in doubles. Source: Salem-Keizer Volcanoes
