Call Nets Police Stolen Car, Drugs, Four Arrests

In addition to the stolen car, deputies found a pile of shaved keys and methamphetamine.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - A call to the Marion County Sheriff's Office Wednesday afternoon, led police to a stolen vehicle, drugs, and landed four people behind bars.

Marion County Sheriff's spokesman Sergeant Chris Baldridge says deputies were called around 1:40 p.m. to 164 Lancaster Drive SE in a parking lot on the report of a large disturbance.

When deputies arrived, they found five people around a Honda car and during their investigation uncovered that the car was reported stolen out of the Salem area. In addition to the stolen car, deputies found a pile of shaved keys and methamphetamine, Baldridge said.

38-year-old Kevin Ponder, 40-year-old Joann Wills, 50-year-old Ronald Chilcote, and 31-year-old Jarl Colwell, were all taken to the Marion County Jail for various crimes.

Kevin Ponder, a passenger in vehicle was charged with Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Meth and two cite and release warrants out of Linn County.

Joann Wills, the driver of the vehicle was charged Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle and an outstanding warrant for Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle.

Ronald Chilcote was arrested for an outstanding warrant for Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle.

Finally Jarl Colwell was charged with Possession of Meth and two outstanding warrants for Parole Violation and Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle.
