Woman Given 16 Months for Reporting Her Rape & George Zimmerman?

As the US reels over the verdict in the killing of Trayvon Martin, and George Zimmerman goes free, we are directed to the plight of Marte Deborah Dalelv, a rape victim who narrowly escaped being sentenced to prison

(CLEVELAND) - Rape prosecutions are difficult in the United Arab Emirates, a strong ally of the United States due to oil trading that maintains laws fit for the 15th Century.

While western extravagance is tolerated and even encouraged, the bottom line is that laws in these countries are completely biased toward men and against women.

The reason is that they are influenced by Islamic law.

In order for a man to be convicted in a rape case, they have to either confess, or be convicted based on the testimony of adult male witnesses.

In other words, the testimony of female rape victims has no bearing or impact.

As the United States reels over the verdict in the killing of Trayvon Martin, and George Zimmerman goes free, we are directed to the plight of Marte Deborah Dalelv, a rape victim who narrowly escaped being sentenced to prison for 16 months.

She ultimately expressed joy (after surviving rape) because this archaic country didn't lock her up in prison for being raped. It is as though both the US and the UA are taking stupid pills and playing this long exaggerated game where everyone acts like a cretin on command and subjugates rape victims to prison.

The United States does a very poor job of ensuring that its business partners comply with basic, international law.

Woman Given 18 Years for Reporting Her Rape & George Zimmerman?

Marte Deborah Dalelv from Norway was given 18 months in jail,
In the UAE while speaking to authorities her rape she would tell,
Yet, because there was not four males who viewed the alleged act,
Her account of the incident was deemed a lie & therefore not fact.

George Zimmerman’s, “Not Guilty” verdict is a gross miscarriage?
Court system in Dubai convicted her of, “sex outside of marriage,”
Islamic-influenced legal codes in this cosmopolitan city of Dubai,
Can you imagine not 1, 2 or 3 but 4 witness & they must be guys?

United Arab Emirates, where construction is a never ending way,
Well no wonder look at the gas prices in America we have to pay,
So, as their justice is not Democratic justice what can we expect?
As America is divided over what some consider an act of neglect.

In this country although it’s not perfect we have a system in place,
That gives Defendant’s an equal opportunity and accusers to face,
Each other more often than not on equal ground in a court of law,
In this Muslim paradise it‘s only for men. And women? Not at all.

Islamic traditions in place are like the Old Testament, a way of life,
Where women are considered & treated like property, not as a wife,
In the George Zimmerman trial our legal system was tainted by race,
And there are still some who want it characterized just like that place.

True justice is the process although not always seen in the conclusion,
With disagreements in the verdict it cannot become an optical illusion,
As protests and rallies are an American right yet it must never become,
A tool to overthrow a judicial system where freedom is, “Priority One.”

The likes of Jesse Jackson’s and Al Sharpton’s will use fear to ignite,
By pouring gasoline on a system that is wrong far less than it is right,
But this woman was convicted of wrong doing for reporting a crime,
Yet in this country we have a fair trial before sentencing & doing time.

I know, I know, innocent people are incarcerated and guilty walk free,
However, that percentage is not all that high even if you do not agree,
Until someone comes along with a fool proof system, proven by fact,
We cannot allow racism to guide us along the wrong side of the tracks.

We shouldn't follow Civil Rights leaders whose main agenda is their Rights,
Inflaming an already volatile situation propelling them to greater heights,
Trayvon is one, where thousands are innocent homicide victims very year,
Fact that Jackson & Sharpton are being selective, that is something to fear.

Update: On Monday 7/22, due to intense media coverage justice prevails,
For Norweigian citizen Marte Deborah Dalelv, she'll spend no time in jail,
And if you think that it was outrageous for her to be convicted of a crime,
Equally obnoxious is the killer(s) of LaVena Johnson have done no time.

Luke Easter is a poet who writes about things that are very close to the heart of Salem-News.com. Another former U.S. Marine, Luke heals the world with an approach that reaches people on a different level, one known for centuries, yet too often forgotten in the one we live in.

We live in a world of social & economic injustice. The main reason for founding America in the first place was to relieve the oppression of the King of England. Patrick Henry said it best, “give me liberty or give me death.” And yet, all too often death seems to be the only way out. Why is there such a high suicide rate especially among teens, in the land of the free & the home of the brave? What makes headlines? Good news? Ha! More depressing stories than anything else. I feel poetry takes an edge off the hurt of bad news while still delivering it but in a, “glitzy” sort of way. Giving a different perspective. Kind of like slap in the face as opposed to a knife in the back. At least with the slap you’ll live to see another day and you will know whom it’s from. I wasn’t here for the beginning of the world but at 59, I just might be here for the end.

Even though it’s still a knife, rhyme poetry helps to dull the blade. And that’s my job. You can write to Luke Easter at: lyricsfromlucas@aol.com

Reeling from: "Something of importance or significance happens to a group or individual. This event is of such magnitude or shock value that it can be difficult to just carry on as normal. It is when someone or a group is visibly affected by something that happend." In the regard that the country is split re: the verdict. Not just Blacks are protesting the, "Not Guilty Verdict" but Whites as well. While on the other hand, both Whites and Blacks say the verdict was justified giving the circumstances and evidence presented. Sadly, Blacks killing Blacks is like using the, "N" word. Long as Blacks say it, all is well but let Dr. Laura, Paula Dean or Mark Furman mention it and all hell breaks loose. For Richard Pryor and Chris Rock that word garnered millions of laughs and millions of $$$$$$$ to match. What about, "NWA" selling millions of records? U R right, we are headed for a big incident (aka) Armageddon! More info? Read: http://www.salem-news.com/articles/october282010/black-history-le.php

Luke the United States reels from the killing of T. Martin? In what regard? It seems that we should be reeling about the black on black killings in the urban areas. Maybe be reeling that as per the media the black homicide rate is ten times that of whites and Hispanics combined. Or reeling about the 73% (and growing) out of wedlock birthrate of black babies. You see a correlation here with poverty, the school drop-out and crime rates of black youth? We need to come together and develop solutions, for decades of blaming others is not working Luke. I hear people like Jackson and Sharpton say they are working on solutions, ditto for Obama, but I sure don't see it, nor do the stats agree. Maybe this unfortunate Marin/Zimmerman (black/Hispanic) will show it's time to shift gears and look for real leadership? I sure hope so because we are heading for a big incident.

PinkFloyd: You went from Pvt. E-1 to Sgt. E-5 in 4 months. Not in the Army, Air Force or U.S.M.C. but in the Navy where they don't have those rank titles. U R too cool for me and that was your 1st 4 months. Wow!

And the U.S. supports and funds them, for oil. And its not the U.S. that reels over the zimmerman trial, its the banker owned obama and the banker owned media, along with the likes of black sellouts such as jesse jackson and al sharpton that are causing all of this. You called me a liar and an idiot, I did not call you any names, I simply questioned and added to your theories. You called me names without doing the research. I swore an oath to protect our Constitution. When I found out that the leaders were not following their oath that is when I left. You stayed, and you said it perfectly, you are a "jarhead". Not my words, they are your words. I could see the indoctrination/brainwashing immediately. Do what they say and dont question. Well, I did my research on who was giving the orders and found out they were psychopathic, greedy, pedophiles, who start wars for their own psychopathic agendas. Not to worry tho, those such as myself and many other veterans who woke up to the truth are being monitored and will soon be droned. So you wont have to put up with me. Altho, with their drone accuracy ratings, they will probably hit YOUR house on accident. You do know that you have more of a chance by 1000 to 1, that you will be killed by a swat team (on accident of course), rather than a terrorist? Not sure where you were around 1980, but I was near Inglewood California helping the plight of the blacks. I saw neighborhoods being transformed, mostly I saw black mothers who stood strong and taught their children well. But then, because of open borders, hispanic gangs flooded the areas and all my, and other peoples work was destroyed. Hundreds of thousands of black babies are being killed because of planned parenthood, setting up shop in low income black areas. Seems to me, I care more about blacks than you do.
