(TURNER, Ore. ) - All the Kings Horses and all the King's Men are not needed in putting Humpty Dumpty back together again at the Enchanted Forest in Turner, Ore. just east of Salem. 84-year-old Roger Tofte owner of the Enchanted Forest and the artist who created the Humpty Dumpty statue -- made of cement -- is currently putting him back together again. The statue, has been a part of the theme park since it first opened back in 1971. Tofte says he hopes to get Humpty all put back together and have it back on the wall within the next month. Two men told park officials that on Saturday July 5, they climbed over a retaining wall and tried to get up on the wall with Humpty, but Humpty and the wall fell. They have offered to pay for the cost of the repairs. Humpty Dumpty is a character in an English nursery rhyme, and was popularized in the United States by actor George L. Fox. The earliest known version was published in Samuel Arnold's Juvenile Amusements in 1797. The first recorded versions of the rhyme date from late eighteenth century in England. UPDATE: Roger Tofte has finished the first layer of cement and you can almost make out a smile on the new Humpty Dumpty.
