(SALEM) - The following road construction projects are set to begin on Monday... ODOT will begin conducting paving work on the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 between the North Jefferson and Turner exits each week night. The B and C lanes between mileposts 245 and 247 will be closed to traffic, with barriers in place. All work will take place from 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM Monday through Thursday nights. The project should be completed by Friday morning. Sunnyview Rd NE Between 17th St NE and Park Av NE. Lane will close with flaggers for chip sealing of roadway and sweeping of loose rock. On Hawthorne Ave NE Between Silverton Rd NE and Sunnyview Rd NE. there will be a lane closure with flaggers for chip sealing of roadway and sweeping of loose rock. Expect a lane closure 25th St SE Between Madrona Ave SE and Airway Dr SE. Look out for flaggers as crews conduct chip sealing of roadway and sweeping of loose rock. The following road construction projects are set to begin on Tuesday….. On Harris St SE Between Commercial St SE and Hulsey St SE, there will be a lane closure with flaggers for chip sealing of roadway and the sweeping of loose rock. More chip sealing work will take place on Skyline Rd S Between Liberty Circle S and Kuebler Blvd S. Chip sealing continues Tuesday on Madrona Ave SE Between 25th St SE and Fairview Industrial Ave SE. Expect a lane closure with flaggers for chip sealing of roadway and the sweeping of loose rock. Continuing Salem-area road construction projects... Hawthorne Ave NE Between Market St NE and Sunnyview Ave SE. Hawthorne Ave will be reduced to one lane in each direction and shifted to one side of the street. Expect a lane closure is for installation of utilities for new development. The project is scheduled to be completed on Friday. On Hawthorne Ave SE Between State St and Mission St SE, traffic lanes will be narrowed and shifted for water line installation and street improvement. Expect delays in this area. Lanes narrowed for improvements for new development on 9th St SE Between Oakhill Ave SE and South Dead End. Turner Rd SE Between Kuebler Blvd SE and 37th Ave SE. Lane closures will happen with flaggers for teh installation of utilities for new development. At Eola Dr NW Between Gehlar Rd NW and Doaks Ferry Rd NW, there will be a street closure for utilities installation and street improvement for new development. On Liberty St NE Between Division St NE and Broadway St NE and High St NE, lanes will be narrowed and shifted for bridge repair work. Expect minor delays in this area. Center Street NE is closed to all thru traffic between 17th Street NE and 12th Street NE for the demolition and rebuilding of the bridge over Mill Creek. A detour route using 17th Street NE, State Street and 12th Street NE is in place. Turner Road SE between Kuebler Blvd SE and Deer Park Dr SE will be closed to all through traffic for the widening of the Mill Creek Bridge. Traffic will be detoured via Deer Park Dr SE to Aumsville Highway SE and Kuebler Blvd SE. Brush College Rd NW at the intersection with and west of Doaks Ferry Rd will have lane closures with flaggers for sewer line installation and street improvement project. Miller St SE Between Liberty St SE and Commercial St SE - Street closure for replacement of concrete at midblock. Brush College Rd NW Between Doaks Ferry Rd NW and Gibson Rd NW. Lane closure with flaggers for sewer line and street improvements. Expect delays in this area. Fairview Industrial Dr SE at the Interstate 5 underpass street closed for the replacement of bridges for the ODOT I-5 widening project. 32nd St SE at the Interstate 5 underpass street closed for replacement of the bridges for the ODOT I-5 widening project. Be Aware! The speed limit on I-5 through south Salem has been reduced to 50 MPH during the ODOT I-5 widening project. Highway 22 drivers should watch for work at the interchange of highways 223 and 99W in the Dallas area. Paving work has begun on Highway 221 between Dayton and Salem minor delays are expected between the Spring Creek Bridge and the Palmer Creek Bridge. The Marion County Department of Public Works wants you to Be Aware! of the complete closure of the Mill Creek Bridge on Denver Street east of School Ave beginning on August 1. The old bridge will be completely removed and a new bridge built in its place. There will be delays due to traffic lane closures both before and after the bridge closure. Traffic will be detoured via 55th Ave., Bear Lane and Marion Road. Marion County is encouraging motorists to use alternate routes when possible due to normal construction congestion and heavy truck traffic.
