(SALEM) - State Police say the driver of a commercial truck pulling a mobile home was cited by Oregon State Police Wednesday afternoon when three overpasses were struck as he traveled eastbound on Highway 22 from the Interstate 5 area. Highway Department officials on the scene said one overpass had damage, and it was considered minor. Investigators say Nicholas Gregory Smith of Albany, was operating a truck that was pulling a mobile home eastbound on Highway 22, when it struck 3 overpasses at Lancaster Avenue, Cordon Road and 72nd Street. Each collision police say, removed a portion of the top of the mobile home. In one case, debris struck a 2005 Kia Rio, damaging the radiator and disabling the car, which had to be towed from the scene. State highway workers inspected the overpasses and reported that the 72nd street overpass sustained minor damage. Police say Smith, employed by Inter-City Housing from Albany, was cited for Driving While Suspended, and over height and overwidth load violations. They say the vehicle did not have am oversize permit to travel on Highway 22.
