(WALDPORT, Ore. ) - The small Oregon coast community of Waldport, Ore. was hit hard last week by graffiti and vandalism. The Lincoln County Sheriff's office says the received multiple reports of vandals doing spray paint and other damage to vehicles, fences, and mailboxes in and around the area of Wakonda Beach Road. As police were investigating these incidents, deputies were able to locate three juveniles at a local residence who admitted involvement in the vandalism. The three were detained and later released to their parents. The trio faces charges of Criminal Mischief III, a class C Misdemeanor. Police do not yet have a price tag on the cost of repairing the damage that was done. Waldport is a town of about 2,050 citizens, and is located 18 miles south of Newport. _________________________________________
