(McMINNVILLE, Ore.) - This afternoon a Willamette Valley Medical Center employee brought a loaded firearm in a backpack to work. The employee dropped the bag and the gun discharged causing an injury to the employee. No one else was involved or injured. Police have safely secured the weapon and removed it from the premises. This is not an active situation and the site has been cleared. For the safety of everyone, Willamette Valley Medical Center’s policy specifically states that no weapon is allowed on the premises with or without a concealed weapons permit.
