(SALEM, Ore. ) - The body of a missing Keizer man was found Wednesday morning in a field near Talbot, Ore. about 17 miles east of Salem. Oregon State Police Criminal Investigations Division, with the assistance of Marion County Sheriff's Office, Keizer Police Department, and Marion County District Attorney's Office, are investigating the manner and cause of death of 54-year-old Robert Allen Knupp. Knupp was reported missing to Oregon State Police on June 8, after his vehicle was found unoccupied at the Santiam Rest Area along Interstate 5 south of Salem. The Marion County Medical Examiner and OSP Forensic Services Division personnel also responded to the scene to assist with recovering the body. An autopsy is pending by the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office to determine the manner and cause of death. Knupp had worked 17 years for Garten Services, Inc., a Salem-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 1970 to support people with disabilities in their effort to contribute to the community through employment, career, and retirement opportunities. At the time of his disappearance, he was working as a custodial supervisor. Salem-News.com will have more on this story as soon as it becomes available. _________________________________________
