(SILETZ, Ore.) - At about 1:30 the afternoon of July 4th, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle traffic crash in the 400 block of Wade Road, Siletz. Upon arrival, deputies learned the driver of the vehicle, 53-year old Jack Alan Kahn, of Siletz, was operating his 2002 Ford F150 pickup eastbound on Wade Road when he left the roadway, going off the south shoulder, causing his vehicle to fall approximately 45 feet down the embankment. Deputies determined that Mr. Kahn was the only occupant of the vehicle and he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the incident. Mr. Kahn was ejected from the vehicle which rolled over the top of him; he was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigation determined medical conditions are believed to be contributing factors of the traffic crash. Siletz Fire and Rescue and Pacific West Ambulance assisted in the investigation.
