PFC Ryan Hill will Return Home to Oregon Wednesday

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at the Peoples Church, 4500 Lancaster Drive NE in Salem.

PFC Ryan J. Hill from Keizer who lost his life in an IED blast in Iraq on January 20th will be returned to Oregon on Wednesday.

(SALEM) - PFC Ryan J. Hill from Keizer who lost his life in an IED blast in Iraq on January 20th will be returned to Oregon on Wednesday between 11:15 AM and 11:30 AM.

Pfc. Hill became the 49th soldier with Oregon ties to have died in the Iraq war.

Hill will be flown into Flightcraft in Portland.

At this location his family will await his arrival and then there will be a procession from Portland to the AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home in Albany.

The family of PFC Hill would welcome citizens to be present along the route to show their support and pay respects for one of Oregon's Fallen Soldiers.

The procession will travel 205 to I-5 to Albany, they will exit I-5 at Exit 234B for arrival at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at the Peoples Church, 4500 Lancaster Drive NE in Salem.

Preceding the Memorial service will be a procession from Albany to Salem.

Upon entering the City of Salem, the procession will proceed to the Oregon State Capitol Building where a short ceremony and moment of silence will be held.

All are invited to participate in this ceremony.

American Flags will be distributed to all who attend at the Capitol Building that morning.

The ceremony is slated to begin at 9:00 AM.

Jon Moritz of the Patriot Guard Riders will play Amazing Grace on the Bagpipes, Steve Slater, Youth Minister and now missionary from the Assembly of God Church will offer a prayer.

This will be followed by moment of silence and the ringing of the church bells in the downtown area.

The procession will then move down Court St. to Liberty turning north and then traveling to Keizer onto River Road North.

Turning west onto Chemawa Road to enter the McNary High School parking lot.

They will then depart the school via Chehalis to Lockhaven Drive and head east to Portland Road NE.

They will then turn left onto Lancaster Drive to the Peoples Church.

Following the ceremony, there will be a reception for close family and friends at the Peoples Church.

The soldier will then be transported in a procession from the church for internment at Willamette National Cemetery at 2:30 PM.

All are invited to attend the ceremonies.

Wally, no one referred to the troops being mindless.,no troops were "put down" and the "collateral damage" was a direct reference to rhe ongoing Iraqi civilaln deaths.,now averaging One Hundred a Day.,or 3000 a Month! now do you get it?.,don't even infer any insult meant toward P.F.C. Ryan., there is nothing but respect and sorrrow., and where are you stationed Wally?

It burns me when I read when people call soldiers "collateral damage" it makes me feel as if we have no mind of our own. What a put down to what someone felt was good. From another soldier to PFC Ryan Hill sorry it happen to you but you were never mindless and a drown. Thankyou

we aren't supposed to ask why our sons and daughters are required to pay with Their Lives to support the "reigning powers".,it would cause them to doubt our "patriotism"., and the sons and daughters in the lands we are "liberating" for democracy? They are considered "collateral damage",not even "officially" tallied., and if you can look at the photo of P.F.C. Ryan and not start crying...,I'm asking you President Bush., Stop This War! It's within your power sir.,how many more sir?
