(CLACKAMAS) - Clackamas County Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating an aggressive kidnapping case that occurred in unincorporated Milwaukie on Monday, Jan. 27. The victim is safe in an area hospital. The suspect -- an adult male around age 50, with gray hair, wire-rimmed glasses and a goatee or beard, wearing a dark navy-blue hooded jacket and driving a purple-colored minivan -- is still at large. Police are requesting the public's help to identify him. On Monday, Jan. 27 around 9:30 p.m. Clackamas County Sheriff Deputies responded to what was initially reported as an auto-versus-pedestrian crash on Oatfield Road. Further investigation revealed a female victim had actually been kidnapped before managing to escape from the suspect. Upon arrival, deputies contacted a female in her mid-20s who was seriously injured. Once she was able to tell deputies what had happened to her, detectives additionally responded to the scene. Just minutes earlier, the victim had reportedly been at her place of employment on Hwy 99. While she was working alone, the suspect walked into the business, physically assaulted her, and forced her outside and into what is described as a purple-colored minivan. At some point while the suspect was driving, the victim managed to escape the moving vehicle. She sustained additional injuries during the escape. The victim was transported to an area hospital and interviewed by detectives -- who are seeking the public's help to find the suspect.
