(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Today, Hillary Clinton received the endorsements of prominent Puerto Rican political figures, Democratic Committee Chair Roberto Prats Palerm, and Ramon Luis Lugo.

The campaign named Prats Palerm Co-Chair of its National Hispanic Leadership Council and Luis Lugo as an advisor to the campaign in Puerto Rico.

“As First Lady, Hillary championed the Children’s Health Insurance Program which today provides healthcare to more than 20,000 thousand children in Puerto Rico,” said Prats Palerm. “She would work tirelessly to provide a better life for all our children and families, as she has for 35 years.”

In 2004, Prats ran as a candidate for Puerto Rico’s Resident Commissioner in the United States for the Popular Democratic Party. He was a member of the Puerto Rico Senate, where he chaired the Government and Public Safety Committee from 2001 to 2004. He also previously served as Federal Affairs Coordinator for then San Juan Mayor Sila Calderon; and worked for then Governor Rafael Hernandez Colon.

Luis Lugo is a leading government affairs consultant in Puerto Rico and has been a key strategist in several Popular Democratic Party campaigns.

“I’m honored to have such strong support in Puerto Rico”, Clinton said.

As far as what to do with the illegal aliens in America, I defer to what the "majority" of my fellow Americans want. So if anyone seeks my method, then you know where to get your answer...and good luck and God bless all who side with the majority, it's the democratic way, uno...

To all: Recent eye-exam points up for me, again, how important it is to remove tinted glasses when trying to see clearly. Bias in lenses prevents full vision -and inhibits action. That sure as h...applies to any kind of analytic vision one puts out into the public record, too. I repeat: What's stand on immigration ? DO you defy and deny immigration near top as political issue ? Why hold back if "solution" is there to tell us about ? If NO solution, that's principled stand, too. No need to worry re impact on "illegal aliens"; they know friend or foe when identified by actions and statements. Common sense defies removal of TWELVE MILLION; yet amnesty bristles with real toughies, too. SO where's that vaunted "I'm NEVER wrong !" attide and your "easy" answers for this one ? Could even do Op Ed, if you have the guts to state your beliefs openly in honest form for dialog here. Check with Tim for guidance --and ID.

Vic, I too am concerned that America overlooks Israel's violent behavior toward its neighbors. But this has been a problem under both Democrat and Republican administrations for many years. Can you point out any specific policy which HIllary has promoted that isn't already in line with current policies regarding Israel?

Jefferson January 23, 2008 9:32 pm (Pacific time)

I imagine that some laws are simply unpopular to some people, so why enforce any of our laws then?

Vic January 23, 2008 8:40 am (Pacific time)

Hillary should at least be honest with us all and run as a Likud candidate. She so beholding to AIPAC and the pro-Israeli lobby, she could never be even handed re Middle East. We need leaders who put America first...no

Henry Ruark January 23, 2008 7:03 pm (Pacific time)

To all: Still await any response from serious questions asked recently re disposal of those 12 million "illegal aliens" now inhabiting our nation. What do you propose as plan to dispose of them ? Shall we waterboard 'em all, seeking their internal solution thus forced to surface, such as home address to which to ship ? Shall we simply line 'em up and execute...you know, with guns or possibly machetes, since that might be more familiar ? OR do you have some other magic "conservative" solution, now that they are HERE, some legally but overstayed visa, others walk-ins ? What do you propose re the employers, who obviously like and encourage-more due to low pay for lots of work ? SO let's hear it from you re the presssing immigration problem, surely simple from your multi-role preparation for every kind, type, level, and possible sort of public policy. No ID needed here, so should be no objection to answers; and, if you need space for more detail, seek Op Ed room from editor.

O'ComeOn, what is it exactly that Hillary has done to deserve the support of Latin Americans across the country? In a way that distinguishes her from, say, John Edwards, Barack Obama or Dennis Kucinich.

Jefferson January 23, 2008 6:05 pm (Pacific time)

From very clear empirical observations I have only noticed one particular political party in the forefront when it comes to "not" providing citizenship checks when getting a driver's license and in many cases, registering to vote (Hint: Think Blue states/urban areas). In addition all those so-called sanctuary cities across the nation are also generally led by the same political party. I believe there are two presidential candidates who have also pandered to those that are here illegally (they can't vote, right? Do they know something the nation does not?). It appears that over 80% of Americans want to see that we are safeguarded from illegals breaking our laws, so in the spirit of democracy let's hope this above political party's leaders get on board with the majority. I don't believe that is too much to ask, uno, following the law...

Henry Ruark January 23, 2008 2:41 pm (Pacific time)

To all: In politics, as in life, there's more to illegitimacy than may appear on the public record. SO reference to ANY party is distinctly erroneous and thus betrays contempt for those to whom such a point is addressed.

Jefferson January 23, 2008 11:34 am (Pacific time)

This would be a good time for each and every state to begin a random process of matching registered voter's with citizenship. Here in Oregon, with certain populations all shook up with driver's licences about to be changed and that we know a lot of fraud has been going on to attain these licenses and the DMV signs up voter's, maybe the time has come to verify citizenship. Who would have a problem with that? Have the politicans/legislators go on record as to where they stand. My guess is that maybe one party will stand out as not being too interested in this type of process, ummmm, which one?

O'ComeOn January 23, 2008 10:09 am (Pacific time)

Hillary deserves the support of Latin@ Americans across the country.

Glen January 23, 2008 5:16 am (Pacific time)

I've thought of a bumper sticker. "It's time for a woman president. Vote for Diane Hooley!"

Neal Feldman January 22, 2008 10:33 pm (Pacific time)

I dunno... I am warming up to Hillary... the possibility of Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter spontaneously combusting election night on air if she wins makes it worthwhile. Ah well...

Glen January 22, 2008 7:07 pm (Pacific time)

Hillary is so....90's.

Jefferson January 22, 2008 2:57 pm (Pacific time)

Stephanie her negatives are only around 50%...

stephanie January 22, 2008 11:39 am (Pacific time)

i think that hilary should drop out of politics because no one wants her.
