(SALEM) - Law enforcement officials have located David Anthony Marrow, a felon who escaped Monday from a minimum-security prison near North Bend. Officers with the US Marshals Service, Oregon State Police, Marion County Sheriff and Woodburn Police have been working with the Department of Corrections Fugitive Apprehension Unit in vigorously following up leads in the case. Salem Police officers surrounded the van but learned that the suspect was not inside, so they turned their attention to the house. After being allowed inside by the residents, officers noticed an attic entrance that was ajar. The police dog was sent up into the attic and the suspect was quickly located and taken into custody. Marrow was taken to Salem Hospital to be treated for dog bites and then transported to the Marion County Jail. Prior to being caught, Marrow was being sought by a growing number of agencies Officers with the US Marshals Service, Oregon State Police, Marion County Sheriff and Woodburn Police have been working with the Department of Corrections Fugitive Apprehension Unit in vigorously following up leads in the case. Marrow was incarcerated in August 2006 for second-degree assault from Clackamas County. His projected release date was December 2008.
