(WASHINGTON D.C.) - With just four days until the Inauguration, Americans are poised to see how and what the most unique president in U.S. history will do once he takes office. Obama's Transistion Team says the country is alight with excitement, not just about the arrival of Barack Obama in the White House but also for the beginning of a new era of civic engagement. "We've tapped into this energy with our Ideas for Change in America, and today we held a press event at the National Press Club in Washington DC to announce the winners of the competition", the team reported. They say the 10 winning ideas reflect the diverse interests of the millions of people who are calling for change across the country. Ideas include securing universal heath care, LGBT rights, and sustainable green energy. All winning ideas can be viewed at change.org/ideas. Macon Phillips accepted the winning ideas on behalf of the Presidential Transition Team, Phillips is the Director of New Media and the person who oversees our second-favorite website, Change.gov. Macon then addressed those who attended the event. Among those present were nonprofit leaders and grassroots activists, and spoke about the importance the administration will place on citizen-driven efforts like Ideas for Change. "With almost 8,000 ideas, more than 600,000 votes, and more than 175,000 participants, the Ideas for Change initiative has shown the widespread interest across the country in renewed civic participation and direct engagement in policymaking. And this is just the beginning," the team said in a news release. Starting next week, each winning idea will be teamed with a sponsoring nonprofit, which will begin a national campaign to translate each into actual policy. Here are the top ten:

"Anon": Thank you for needed-laughter, with yours claiming "list falsified" while you refuse even "convenience" name. That is ironic as well as a bit humorous, too. IF you wish credibility, sir, achieve it by accountability and responsibility, which demands first-essential of that well-recognized principled pattern for all cogent communication: WHO says WHAT to WHOM in WHAT channel. Please note starting-piece...which provides real reason yours here is meaningless, even for yourself.

The time is coming that America will start to demand "details" on these lofty goals we were hearing in campaign speeches. I predict, that though I love all this good feeling that suggests bi-partisanship, the time will come when principals will match up with other principals and we will be right back to a 50/50 partisanship. The last election was a lot closer than one may think when you compensate for the huge dislike conservatives had for McCain, and many did vote for Obama because of this intense dislike, by sending a message to the repub. party with that vote. Expectations are incredibly high for Obama, maybe that's quite unfair, so it will be difficult to maintain that level if and when things are not getting better. The new media that is developing will be replacing the current one, so the future is going to be real interesting.

Repealing the Tax Exempt Status of the Church of Scientology was #9 on the list. This list is falsified.

Not only did it make the top ten list. It was #1, by a margin close to 5,000 votes. Hopefully it won't be brushed aside.

Hey-T: Same owner, but differing purpose and often much different content. BUT both open for full, honest comment from whole country, which proves up solid values given to honest democratic dialog by the O-regime. Given time and some patience, see what a difference that can make !!

"Anon": Obama put his points on the line, won huge mandate, now working to make good on his promises. Meanwhile some saboteurs, not daring to sign stuff, work in any way they can to promote and preserve their own private interests. That's what's been underway for more than 30 years, and why American signed on for substantive "transformative" changes, now slowly under way in face of worldwide collapse caused by those 30-year most selfish policies and actions.

Let me see: Dream act would be Amnesty for millions of illegal aliens. Wonderful. And who is going to pay for this? Dumb taxpayers like me. More and more illegal criminals will benefit from my hardworking money while Obama takes my gun away. And here I get screwed again. Secretary of peace to make sure we don't offend no one and use no violence to get information. We might as well bow down start praying to Allah so they don't cut off our heads. No thanks. Legalize marijuana, well we don't have enough people on drugs or meds. Might as well. Civil Liberties - lets see for everyone but American Citizens. We're just good enough to pay for the criminals. That's it. Welcome to America which used to be a democracy with morals.

Not to confuse change.org with change.gov. Two different entities.
