SNOW WATCH: Snow Showers Will Be Light, if Any, For The Salem-Area Overnight

(SALEM) - Here we go again!? Another round of snow showers may or may not hit the mid-valley overnight. According to the National Weather Service Portland radar at 10:00 PM, a band of snow/rain showers started tracking well north of the mid-valley. A band of light snow/rain showers was located north and south of the Salem-area. The precipitation is from to a weak warm front passing over Oregon and Washington tonight. Forecasters are predicting only light if any snow showers for the Salem-area and mid-Willamette Valley. Cities north of Salem will see the most snow out of this system. Salem Public Works spokesman Mike Gotterba says de-icing snow removal, sanding crews are on stand-by tonight, ready to go should the snow return. Gotterba says the city has layed down 2,200 gallons of de-icer and 150 cubic yards of sand on city streets. Forecasters also say snow could return again Friday. Yamhill-Carlton Sch. Dist.: 2 hour delay. No AM kind. Newberg: 2 hrs late, no AM kind, all buses on snow rt, no service to Viewmont in Dundee. Willamina Sch. Dist.: Buses on snow routes AM & PM. Estacada Sch. Dist.: CLOSED Spirit Mountain Casino has cancelled all AM shuttles for Thursday. PM shuttles will run as scheduled.
