Crusade Against Religion

Evangelicals preach that their members are the true Christians who do not question, and intellectuals are doing the work of the Devil because they do.

Christian fascism
So Americans convince themselves...

(PASO ROBLES, Calif.) - The crusade is a concept based on the perceived opinions of some, if not all, of the candidates seeking the nomination of the GOP, also known as the Party of God (meaning Jesus as Christ) for President in 2012.

Currently there are six contenders; Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Rich Santorum, Rick Perry and Jon Huntsman seeking the honor, all of whom are professed Christians of one sort or another.

Ron Paul is the oldest at seventy three, an obstetrician by profession who while he practiced delivered thousands of babies. He is a Representative now from Texas but in important respects is the most reasonable of the lot which likely is enough to prevent him from being chosen to be the nominee. Too independent and too old I suspect.

Newt Gingrich is a convert to Catholicism whose third wife may have induced him to embrace her faith. Newt says he converted when in Church he suddenly realized and accepted the magic and spirit of his new found faith in Jesus as Christ. He is not evangelical, but hopes Evangelicals will accept his account, for evangelicals constitute a sizable block of voters.

Rich Santorum is a full blown Catholic and would, as president, use his faith to outlaw all forms of contraception He is not a man of the people (including Catholics) who know how to operate in their own best interest. Rich would resonate with the Republican Holy See in this regard, but I doubt his obedience to dogmatic faith would propel him to the level of nominee by a wise electorate or the GOP’s Evangelical Holy See.

Rick Perry relies on his evangelical upbringing, and the training he gets from Evangelists, to support his quest for the presidency. Bu unfortunately he is inept and lacks the intelligence to be taken seriously. Both Rick and Rich ranked last in polls of contestants for the GOP nomination in Iowa and New Hampshire. He is Governor of Texas.

Mitt Romney and Jon Huntsman are Mormon which Rev. Jeffrees - a tutor to Rick Perry - describes as a “cult” whose members are not sufficiently Christian to be considered for this nation’s highest office. Yet, Christianity was created by a Judaic cult whose members sought to replace Jehovah - God of the Jewish Nation - with a new God for All Nations, via The Catholic Church. Christianity took its name from Jesus as Christ as the sacrificed Son of Jehovah, and the New Testament philosophy became its virtual God (also referred to as Lord and its members as Angles) The Eucharist is a solemnized and metaphorical connection to Jesus’ resurrection as Christ.

The Book of Isaiah precedes the New Testament by some two hundred pages in the Bible, and the Gospels were written by Christian authors who used Isaiah to design the Christianity. Christian authors followed Isaiah’s lead, but made wondrous additions which greatly exceed the truth of Isaiah, and defies rational belief which has been taught as Christian Truths by Catholics and Evangelists ever since.

The Republican Holy See, and Evangelicals generally, manipulate their faith believing they can impose or control politics by their misguided will. Christians, for their own protection, and if they really want to know the truth, ought to read Isaiah’s Book with a cool and open mind, then compare it with the Gospels to see how much of what the Gospels say is absent in Isaiah.

Mitt Romney was a bishop in the Mormon Church who counseled members on the tenants of Mormonism, and how to live their lives. He also served a two year mission in France. Jon Huntsman was called to serve a mission for two years in China where he learned to speak the language fluently. Both have been Governors, Romney in Massachusetts, and Jon Huntsman in Utah. Jon also served in the Obama Administration as Ambassador to China. Both are exceedingly wealthy.

The so-called crusade against religion is simply an attempt by the Republican Holy See and Evangelicals generally to keep their followers in the dark. They succeed because they know their followers prefer to take their religion second hand. Evangelicals preach that their members are the true Christians who do not question, and intellectuals are doing the work of the Devil because they do.

New Hampshire provides a hint as to how voter’s minds work by the order in which the contenders finished; Romney first, Ron Paul second, and Jon Huntsman third.

Kenneth G. Ramey, Salem-News.com's Religion and Philosophy Writer, confronts the hard issues of politics and religion from a logical point of view that combines interesting insight with history into the truth, or lack thereof, that underlies the strengths and weaknesses of the Religious Right’s determination to use American politics for its own misguided, or selfish, interest. It’s rare for a writer to balance his writing between religious values and the secular guarantees of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights with the knowledge that Ken possesses, and to do it so effectively.

Ken was born in Minnesota but was raised in California since 1932. He is the youngest of four boys raised by his mother alone during the dark years of the Great Depression. He Graduated from SFSU in the 1970s when in his mid-forties, majoring in Spanish North American History, and added three years of post-graduate study, much of it in Philosophy and Religion. We live at a critical time in history and believe Ken's views represent the view of many who are tired of the commercialism and false interpretations about religion today.
