(SALEM, Ore.) - For over three years, Salem-News.com has been providing news stories for Oregon. Now, things have changed- and improved. Business News stories have found a new home in a section all their own.

This is what people want. Oregon’s local news site has been asked over and over again if there will be a place specifically for business news. That day is finally here.

Events that normally miss the news will now be on Salem-News.com and Google, a permanent record documenting the progress of Northwest companies.

Newsrooms traditionally roundfile news releases about business groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings and ownership changes, these stories have often taken the backseat to harder news.

Now these milestones will get the attention they well deserve, published with more thoroughness and regularity in SNc Business News.

"Our development team led by Matt Lintz has created this new section with people in mind who are looking for business news with some meat in it," says Bonnie King, Salem-News.com general manager. "This is news about what directly affects their business. We are working with people here in the Willamette Valley including area Chambers of Commerce and with the producers at YourBusinessChannel to bring no-nonsense news, advice and guidance to our viewers about almost every aspect of business."

A business forum filled with a group of local experts from varied fields of business is next on the horizon. A round table discussion will be videotaped, then posted so that the conversation can be opened up to viewers. King says, "I’m really excited about the interactive aspect of this group, it is a very new concept and I think it’s going to be a big hit. This is the kind of thing that makes a difference."

In addition to the increased visibility for local businesses, a fresh video "show" will be added to SNc Business News every week, featuring world-class experts and highly accomplished business people giving free tips to help entrepreneurs and business people to be successful.

"Video is key," says King. "It’s not a surprise to anyone now, but video is one of the top 3 draws to the Internet. People want to have good quality video at their fingertips, and we offer that. It isn’t just a collection of stories, the latest video greets the viewer when the section is opened and links to past shows."

With nearly 15,000 unique viewers daily, Salem-News.com has steadily met the ongoing needs of the public by releasing new sections every few months, expanding the site’s functions and developing new, fresh content in line with the growing focus on local online news, web-television and streaming video content.

"Our news team works to find great topics for the focus of new articles. Salem area businesses will sincerely benefit from this information. Our aim is to ensure that our content is viable in today’s world. We’re open to all your ideas!"

Salem-News.com is the only independently owned mainstream online news organization in the US today, based in Salem, Oregon.
