(SALEM, Ore.) - State police say a Salem area man remains missing after reportedly falling off a cliff Friday evening at Rocky Creek State Park wayside about two miles south of Depoe Bay. 43-year old Brian Albert Wells was taking photos at the ocean side park while spending the day at the beach with his wife and a male friend. An area search was conducted when daylight began Saturday morning with the help of US Coast Guard and local agencies, but they turned up no sign of Brian Wells according to Oregon State Police Spokesman Lieutenant Gregg Hastings. He says that around 6:00 PM last night, Brian Wells and his 54-year old wife and a 62-year old male friend reportedly stopped at Rocky Creek State Park wayside to take pictures. Hastings says that according to his wife and friend, they had traveled to the coast in their gold/silver Ford F150 pickup for the day and stopped at the wayside where Brian Wells was leaning over the edge to take pictures and lost his balance. "He fell about 60 feet where he landed on rocks and water," Hastings said. Oregon State Police, Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, Depoe Bay Fire & Rescue, and U.S. Coast Guard personnel responded. Mr. Wells was last seen by his wife and friend in the water. An area search with the help of a Coast Guard helicopter was suspended at 11:00 PM Friday. The search efforts resumed again today for a few hours. OSP troopers were also assisted by Lincoln City Police Department and Toledo Police Department.

I was born in Eugene in '53.. A lot has changed. Odd poltciis has destroyed much of the local industrial base. Coffee houses can only employ so many people. Someday perhaps common sense will find it's way back to Eugene. In the meantime, no-growth poltciis is showing it's ugly side. The only growth industry is public sector.. When you kill the goose that generates the golden eggs, yiou find economic ruin. Marxists find this delightful. American's should wake up.

If the 60yr old had an insurance policy on her younger husband, that would be the money her and friend would need for their new thing they had tried starting.
