(BORING, Ore.) - Police say a Boring-area woman died Friday night when the car she was driving crossed into the opposite lanes of travel on Highway 26 about four miles east of Sandy and collided head-on with another vehicle. The two occupants of the other vehicle were seriously injured. Sergeant Dan Swift with Oregon State Police says last night around 7:35 PM, a Ford Focus driven by 34-year old Gretchen Lee Kahnert of Boring, was westbound on Highway 26 near milepost 29 when, for an unknown reason, it crossed the centerline into the right eastbound lane where it crashed head-on with a Hyundai Tucson sport utility vehicle. The Ford Focus came to rest on top of the Hyundai in the eastbound lanes. Ms. Kahnert, who police say was driving with a suspended license, was pronounced deceased at the scene. She was using safety restraints. The Hyundai's driver, 66-year old David Trujillo of Rhododendron, and his female passenger, whose name unavailable at this time, were seriously injured. They were transported to Legacy Emanuel Hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries. Both were using safety restraints and the vehicle's airbags deployed. Story continues below Oregon State Police troopers from the Portland Area Command office and Government Camp work site are continuing the investigation into the cause of the crash. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Sandy Police Department, Sandy Fire Department, AMR ambulance and ODOT assisted at the scene. The eastbound lanes were closed until about 12:30 PM Traffic was moving through the area using the westbound lanes. Does anyone know of a service for Gretchen? I was her RA at the UO and knew her well at the time.

I'm glad in the body of text you said Boring-area... but the headline just says Boring woman. Many might not realize there is a city called Boring and might misread the headline. Just saying. Ah well...
