(FLORENCE, Ore.) - Oregon State Police and the Lane County Medical Examiner are attempting to positively identify the body of a male found Thursday afternoon under the east end of the North Fork Siuslaw River Bridge.

Police investigators at this point say that there does not appear to be any indications of foul play.

Yesterday at approximately 3:00 PM, construction workers completing maintenance work on the bridge discovered the body which appears to have been there for a prolonged period of time.

Oregon State Police troopers from the Florence Worksite, assisted by detectives from the Springfield Area Command office, responded to the scene. The body was severely decomposed and no identification was located on or around the body.
