Sheriff's Deputies Investigate Fatal Collision on Silverton Road

One of the drivers, Victor Hoffer of Salem, was transported to the Salem Hospital where he died of injuries sustained in the crash.

(SILVERTON, Ore.) - Sheriff's Deputies responded to a two car collision on Silverton Road near 64th Place today at 1:00 PM.

According to witnesses, the roadway was covered with hail when 31-year old Victor Hoffer of Salem lost control of his 2003 Toyota MR2.

Lieutenant Sheila Lorance with the Marion County Sheriff's Office, says Mr. Hoffer's vehicle started to spin, crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed into a 2008 Hyundai Elantra driven by Linda Probert of Silverton.

Victor Hoffer was transported to the Salem Hospital where he died of injuries sustained in the crash.

Probert and a passenger from Mr. Hoffer's vehicle were both transported to the Salem Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
