Amber Alert Issued for 2 North Carolina Children

The suspect vehicle, a White 1986 Toyota Truck Extended Cab with NC tag number YNS-8257, possibly has a camper cover that is white in color. The truck may have gold stripes and rusted fender wells.

(CANDLER, N.C.) - The State of North Carolina issued an Amber Alert after two children were apparently abducted following a triple homicide in Candler on Thursday.

Officials in North Carolina say the suspect is considered armed and dangerous and believed to be headed to St. Petersburg Florida with the children.

Hayes Heatwole is a 6-year-old White male, approximately 3 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 45 pounds. He has blond- long shaggy hair, and blue eyes. Haley Heatwole is a 10-year-old White female, approximately 4 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 62 pounds.

She has brown-shoulder length hair, and hazel eyes. Scar on her forehead that extends to the bridge of her nose.

The suspect is 45-year old Richard Doughlas Heatwole a white male, five feet 6 inches tall, weighing 165 pounds. He has brown hair and hazel eyes.

The suspect vehicle is a White 1986 Toyota Truck Extended Cab with NC tag number YNS-8257.

The vehicle possibly has a camper cover that is white in color. The truck may have gold stripes and rusted fender wells.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Buncombe County Sheriff`s Office at 828-250-6670 or dial 911.
