Why the Endless GOP Primary Stories on TV News?

Meaningless... and it won't matter at the end of the day

(SALEM) - Why are the mainstream media airwaves clogged all day long with information about Republican Presidential contenders who have absolutely not a ghost's chance in hell of being elected? Why do the TV networks believe this GOP primary should dominate the news?

Romney, Santorum, Gingrich, Paul... None of it matters, not one of these men will come close to overtaking President Obama in the coming election; everyone knows that and while their candidacies are worth a mention on the news, they are made to be important and they are not important, they are tire spinning exercises in futility that are taking up the limited space news could use to actually do news.

I left this industry because it made me sick, the whole idea of it is so defeating; the networks and all of the network affiliates are the same. They have positions on issues and they ignore the important stories and news that matters. If I were running an American network, I could change the way people go about their lives and change everything that is wrong, TV news has the power to do this, but it is failing at epic stage.

Where are human trafficking stories?

Where are the stories about ultra deadly Mexican drug cartels who were furnished thousands of weapons by the US AT&F?

What happened in Afghanistan today that didn't involve a mass loss of U.S. troops... what else did they do?

What about Sri Lanka facing war crime charges in Geneva this week? The Genocidal mayhem on that island nation happened because of the politics George W. Bush played.

What about Gaza, and the Jews storming the Mosque in Jerusalem?

Israel's decades of hideous war crimes that the U.S. supports, along with apartheid laws, will be the death of us all, as warmongers call for the destruction of Iran, a country where the biggest 'error' placing it in jeopardy, is refusing to acknowledge Israel's apartheid government as 'legitimate'. Of course it isn't legit.; Israel continually steals Palestinian homes and land and gives it to colonial 'settlers' who are religious crazies that sit around and study the Talmud all day without having to work, after all the American taxpayer sees to that.

Where are the stories about government corruption? How about labor trends, and what about Occupy?

TV news is sold out and sold out hard, and I speak from the position of a former insider. It is supported by big pharma which is increasingly turning the American population into legal, drug-addicted zombies, who go to work and are allowed to go about their lives in a stupor, don't tell me you haven't seen this, I have seen it in both business and government right here in Salem, Oregon, it's the OxyContin generation and the TV stations are why.
