(SALEM) - Light snow began falling this morning just after 4:00 AM in the Salem-area.

As of 7:00 AM the snow had stopped falling.

Police are reporting that Highway 22 and 18 in the Willamette Valley are very slick this morning and drivers should use extreme caution.

A Snow Advisory is in effect for the Willamette Valley until 6:00 PM tonight.

The National Weather Service says snow showers will increase this morning.

One to two inches are expected, and the snow showers are expected to taper off later today.

A Snow Advisory means that periods of snow will cause primary travel difficulties.

Be Prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
